Neck Lift

Conveniently located to serve New York City, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, Long Island

A neck lift in New York is a surgery performed to sculpt and contour the neck, reducing excess fat and sagging tissue. This method helps patients achieve a more defined jawline and neck. Dr. Bradley’s neck lift procedure will address concerns you have about excess hanging neck skin or excess fullness due to fat.

  • Neck recontouring can get rid of a “double-chin” or “sagging turkey neck.”
  • This procedure can restore a smooth, youthful neck and a refined profile.
  • A neck lift is tailored to each individual patient to help achieve a defined jawline that frames the face and restores balance.

Neck Lift Objectives

  • Improves the appearance of a “double chin” or fullness under the chin
  • Refines the jawline
  • Enhance the chin to bring facial balance

Who Should Consider Having a Neck Lift?

The best candidates for a neck lift procedure have excess fat and drooping skin around the neck, along with sagging muscle tissues in the neck. Ideal candidates are also in good overall health and have realistic expectations in terms of results.

Good candidates for a neck lift are non-smokers. Smoking decreases the skin’s elasticity, leading to increased sagging. It also negatively affects the healing process and can increase the risk of complications. Avoid smoking at least two weeks before the surgery date, and continue to avoid smoking until healing is complete.

Top Browlift State-of-the-Art Techniques

  • Submental Liposuction: Liposuction through a pinhole removes fat, and the skin will redrape nicely.
  • Chin Augmentation: A custom implant is placed to increase chin projection and define the neck.
  • Genioplasty (Osseous): The chin is moved to increase projection and lengthen the lower face when needed to achieve ideal facial thirds (as described by the artist Leonardo da Vinci).

What to Expect Before the Surgery

Dr. Bradley will have a discussion with you about your health and medical history, including any medications you are currently taking, any allergies you have, and any past procedures. He will go over the full details of the procedure, including preparation and recovery.

He will ask you about your goals for the surgery in order to choose the best method and techniques to suit you. You are advised to voice any concerns and ask any questions you may have at this time.

Neck Lift Surgery

A neck lift procedure can include the following techniques:

  • Platsymaplasty: Tightening of musculature
  • Cervicoplasty: Removal of excess skin
  • For Men: Removal of turkey neck directly in the bearded region under the chin using neck Z-plasty

The neck lift process takes several hours to complete. First, anesthesia is administered to ensure patient comfort for the duration of the surgery.

Dr. Bradley will make incisions beneath the chin and/or behind the ears. After the incisions have been created, tissues will be removed, and the remaining tissues will be tightened. The incisions will then be closed with sutures. A pressure dressing will be applied to the neck.

What to Expect After Neck Lift Surgery

There will be slight bruising and swelling right after the surgery. However, they will heal after a couple of weeks. Dr. Bradley will give post-surgical care directions, which should be followed closely in order to avoid complications during recovery. Avoid physically taxing activities until all healing is complete.

Neck Lift Cost

Patients interested in neck contouring may be wondering about the cost of this procedure. The cost of neck lift is impacted by the overall time the procedure requires, the type of anesthesia used, and the exact techniques performed during it. This can be discussed in further detail during your consultation.
