Dear Dr. Bradley,
One year ago today I had my facial reconstruction and skull surgery, at Lennox Hill Hospital. You and Dr. Langer worked for hours and hours to give me a beautiful face. It was the face I always should have had.
Today I am in Palma, Majorca vacationing with my mum! I’m doing well and feeling good, overall. I have a beautiful symmetrical face, a normal forehead and a perfect cheekbone.
In terms of my professional life, I was profoundly affected by this whole experience. It impacted on my attitude towards patients and the work I have been doing as an Ethicist, teacher and advocate. As a result, I have developed a program for health care facilities that addresses ‘Civility, Professionalism and Respect’. I have just complete teaching the seminars to the entire staff of a local hospital and expect to be working with a non-profit agency to provide the same education to their staff.
With all the stresses of the modern health care system, I felt it was incumbent on someone to remind hospital staff to be kinder and revisit civility and the common courtesy that has, for many reasons, fallen by the wayside. The enduring message of the program is that kindness and civility costs nothing, takes next to no time to express and requires little, if any schooling and yet makes such a difference for patients and families. Anyway, I hope to expand the program and impact on as many folks as possible.
The words ‘thank you’ seem so inadequate for what you have done for me, but know that I will use this opportunity to bring about good and kindness in the world.
With all good wishes,
I never got to truly thank you for the work you’ve done for me
I never got to truly thank you for the work you’ve done for me. You not only gave me my confidence back, you gave me parts of myself back that I thought I would never feel again. I feel blessed to have been able to go on this journey with you, and I’m not even a religious person. I cannot express how thankful I am. I had sleepless nights before surgery and extreme acne breakouts from stress, but I was never disappointed and my worries never became a reality.
What you do for a living is not only a job but you give people a second chance at a normal life. That’s something beyond a career. Now that I’ve been able to put the past behind me, I move forward with undeniable gratitude. Gratitude isn’t even the right word, it’s this feeling in my chest that is unexplainable. I feel blessed to be alive, yes, but to be able to feel myself, to feel beautiful again, is something I can’t even put into a phrase. I never thought I’d be able to feel this way again, I have a second chance at life, at happiness. And for that, I thank you. So much.
Now I look and feel amazing!
At 49 years of age I felt young but saw my reflection in the mirror looking old. The other day I saw my friend’s facebook posting of me and realized that people see an old me and not the young vibrant me that I was just a few years ago. I never thought that I would consider facial rejuvenation procedures. But I’m so glad that I did. I’m so glad that I met Dr. Bradley. The first time that I met him, I noticed that he was confident and reassuring. What I really liked about him was that he listened to me and was extremely patient with me. He recommended botox and fillers initially. After a year I opted to have a mini-facelift procedure. Now I look and feel amazing!
My eyelids looks so natural. It turned out perfect
As an actress I see myself on camera a lot. I take good care of myself; eat healthy; exercise daily; and am an avid yogini. I researched many plastic surgeons and visited a few. My best friend highly recommended D. Bradley so I made an appointment with him. I was so happy that I did. I could tell he knew what he was doing but had a chill personality. I like that fact that he studied art and had the top training in the country. Plus, I can trust him. He has had over 20 years of plastic surgery experience. The surgery he did on my eyelids looks so natural. It turned out perfect.
I can’t stop taking selfies
I ran track in high school and college and have always had problems breathing out of my nose. My boyfriend used to tell me that I snored every night. I didn’t believe him until he recorded it. I was sent to Dr. Bradley by an ENT specialist because I also had a bump on my nose and he said it was deviated. Dr. Bradley answered all my questions and explained the whole process in detail. The first week after my septorhinoplasty was not easy but there was not much pain at all. Now I don’t snore at all and my nose looks way better than I had hoped. I can’t stop taking selfies.
I love the personalized care
When my son was born with a cleft lip and palate, we were shocked. We visited several teams to try and find the best place for him. I felt like we were floundering and then we found Dr. Bradley. He has been a godsend. I love the personalized care. The other institutions made us feel like a number. Dr. Bradley treats us like we are a part of his family. I’ve talked with other families that have gone to him for years. Some of them travel from the opposite coast because they want the best care. I know my son will need several more surgeries as he gets older. It won’t be easy but I feel like Dr. Bradley will help us get through all of them.
